Tuthill Competitor GT™

Products :: Blowers :: Competitor Blowers :: Competitor GT

COMPETITOR GT™ blowers include splash oil lubrication at both the gear end and drive end of the blower. Splash lubrication provides for longer bearing and seal life through improved heat dissipation versus grease lubrication.

Many sizes of COMPETITOR GT blowers are available with Tuthill’s unique noise reduction technology with tri-lobe rotors specially designed for maximum displacement and special porting to significantly reduce noise.

These blowers are also designed to be interchangeable with equivalent sizes of Roots Universal RAI®, and many Sutorbilt® California Series B and F, and Legend™ Series L and P blowers.

Performance Specifications:

  • Flow range: from 18 - 850 CFM (30 - 1445 m³/h)
  • Pressure range: up to 15 PSIG (1.03 bar g)
  • Vacuum range: up to 16" Hg (540 mbar g)

Material Specifications:

  • Housing: Cast iron
  • End Plates: Cast iron
  • End Cover: Cast iron
  • Rotors: Ductile iron
  • Shafts: Ductile iron, cast integrally with rotors
  • Drive Shaft: Ductile iron, cast integrally with drive rotor
  • Gears: Heat treated alloy steel, helical cut
  • *Seals: Balanced, cartridge type mechanical seals on rotor shafts, Lip seal on drive shaft
  • *Lubrication: Oil splash on both ends
  • Bearings:
    • Gear end: Double row ball, both rotors
    • Drive End: Cylindrical roller on drive rotor, Single row ball on driven rotor

  • Helical Gearing
Timed with hardedened, precision helical gears, keyed to the rotor shafts (NOT taper fit spur gears as offered by all other manufacturers, which have greater backlash, and can slip and lose timing). Helical gears are quieter, reducing mechanical noise.

  • Double Row Ball Bearings
For increased strength compared to single row bearings offered by competing brands. This feature increases bearing life by as much as 50% compared to competing brands.

  • Rotors with Integral Shafts
COMPETITOR GT™ blowers are available in two-lobe or tri-lobe variations. The tri-lobe variation offers reduced pulsation and lower noise levels. The two-lobe variation is ideal for processes with heavy contamination. For vibration free operation all rotors are dynamically balanced. Shafts are integral to the rotors, which prevents loosening over time.

  • Positive End Clearances
Eliminates the risk of shifting end clearances when installing or removing drive components.

  • Polished Sealing Surfaces
All shaft surfaces in contact with sealing members are polished to reduce seal wear and risk of leakage.

  • Individually Tested
Every COMPETITOR GT™ blower is factory tested to assure you of the highest quality. While some manufacturers perform only sample testing, we go the distance to insure that your blower meets our rigid ISO 9001 registered quality standards.
  • Coal Bed Methane Gas Extraction
  • Closed Loop Pneumatic Conveying
  • Soil Vapor Extraction
  • Natural Gas Boosting

The COMPETITOR GT™ has been engineered and designed to fit right into your existing process without any modification, and at a lower cost than Roots, Sutorbilt, or Gardner Denver.
